Project Update
The UK Government and Universal have signed an agreement in relation to bringing the Theme Park to the UK! Processes to submit a planning application is now underway.
We will keep this page updated as much as possible to bring you all the updates in relation to Universal brining a Theme Park to the UK.
What we currently know is:
- December 2023 – Universal announced plans
- April-May 2024 – Public Engagements & Feedback Sessions were held
- June 2024 – Discussions with UK Government started
- April 2025 – UK Government come to an agreement with Universal
The next steps will be for the full planning proposal to be submitted to the UK Goverment for approval and building work expected to then begin in 2026.
It’s being expected that we would the see the Theme Park open in 2031!
At the moment as well as it is very early in to the plans for the Theme Park and will also depend on planning permission, Universal are not able to confirm any theme’s for the area’s and rides of the park.

Cloud Wing UK Ltd
On the 31st August 2023, Cloud Wing UK LTD was purchased by Comcast.
With the acquisition of Cloud Wing, Comcast also received its land assets, which include a 240 acre (95 hectare) section of a parcel of land in Bedford, England.

Speaking to Bedford Independent, Universal have confirmed that they purchased land in Bedford and are carrying out a feasibility to bring a park and resort to the UK. Read More

During April, Universal Studios ran some public engagement sessions to talk about their plans, which received positive feedback!

Engement Period Ends
Universal Studios has now gathered enough information as part of its public engagement sessions. It’s now a waiting game while they decide internally if they are going to go ahead with their plans.
