Back in 2022, plans were released for Alton Towers to build a new indoor attraction, code-named Project Horizon.

Following on from this, planning permission was then granted back in February 2023.

As of today, no work has actually started on Project Horizon, leaving many of us wondering, what is actually happening with Project Horizon? Will it still go ahead?

As we all know, the team at Alton Towers and Merlin Magic Making have been very busy at Alton Towers, with the work taking place to open up Nemesis Reborn for the 2024 season. This is possibly why, so far there has been no movement as of yet on Project Horizon.

So far, like myself, we can only hope that once the work to open up Nemesis Reborn has been completed, we will then see work taking place on Project Horizon, after all, it’s in an area that is out of the way from the ‘general public’ so would mean that they could start doing all of the work with no impact (apart from noise) to visitors.

What do you think? Do you think that like us, Project Horizon will begin this year?
