Today was an incredible day spent with my best friend Adam as we headed off to Blackpool Pleasure Beach. There’s something about returning to a place filled with so many great memories that instantly brings a smile to your face. From the moment we arrived, I knew we were in for an amazing time.

We kicked things off by jumping straight onto some of our all-time favourites. Icon was as thrilling as ever, with its smooth launches and heart-racing twists that never disappoint. Then, of course, we took on The Big One, towering high above the park. No matter how many times I ride it, that first drop still gives me that heart-in-your-throat feeling before the adrenaline kicks in. It’s an experience that never gets old.

Now, onto the rides that I’m definitely less enthusiastic about – Derby Racer and Steeplechase. I’ll give Derby Racer credit where it’s due – the beautiful fairground organ is a joy to listen to, filling the air with that classic, nostalgic fairground sound. But the ride itself? It’s not that I don’t like it – I’m terrified. There’s something about being spun around at speed on those galloping horses that sets my nerves on edge.

As for Steeplechase… well, let’s just say it’s a ride like no other. Being perched on a mechanical horse and racing along a narrow, wobbly track is not exactly my idea of fun. Adam, of course, found my discomfort absolutely hilarious, which added to the experience – for him, at least!

Despite a couple of nerve-wracking moments, today was everything I could have hoped for. The sun was shining, the atmosphere was electric, and spending quality time with Adam made it all the more special. There’s nothing quite like screaming your lungs out on a rollercoaster to bond with your best mate.

Until next time, Blackpool Pleasure Beach – you never disappoint!
